Where to find the LE 5 submachine gun in Resident Evil 4 Remake
The LE 5 submachine gun can be found in one of the locations long before it appears in the Merchant's shop. The opportunity to get it will appear in Chapter 13, when you get to the laboratory and get into the freezer. However, this is easier said than done, given that an aggressive regenerator is walking around this room.
To get into the freezer, you must first pick up the level 1 card key in the sectional room, and then redirect the energy to the freezer using the switch lever located in the southern corridor. After that, you will be able to open the freezer door with the level 1 keycard you found. Keep in mind that here you will have a skirmish with a regenerator chasing Leon.
Once inside the freezer, turn right and solve the computer terminal puzzle to open the door to a small room.
In this room, you will find an LE 5 submachine gun lying on top of one of the containers. It is recommended that you first pick up a new weapon and only after that go to the overwriting terminal. The fact is that as soon as you press the button to interact with it, a second regenerator will appear in the freezer, which will not allow you to calmly solve the puzzle with the door leading to LE 5.
If you missed the opportunity to pick up the LE 5 during Chapter 13, you can purchase this submachine gun from the Merchant in Chapter 14 for 35 pesetas.
Of course, the most economical way to get LE 5 is to find it in Chapter 13, but if you don't want to mess around with puzzles and have already managed to save up enough money, then nothing prevents you from waiting until the next chapter. It is worth noting that in order to get the “Gun Fanatic” achievement, the submachine gun must somehow be in your inventory.
Should I use the LE 5 submachine gun in Resident Evil 4 Remake
If you manage to get your hands on the LE 5 during Chapter 13, you'll quickly find that it's one of the best submachine guns in the game. It is more powerful than the TMP, and although its ammo capacity and reload speed are slightly inferior to the TMP, it makes up for this with a special upgrade for the LE 5 submachine gun.
- The strength of a fully upgraded LE 5 is 1.20, while TMP can only be upgraded to 1.10.
- After purchasing all the upgrades, the LE 5's ammo capacity will increase to 60 rounds, while the TMP magazine can hold 70 rounds.
- The LE 5 reload speed with all upgrades is 1.05, while the TMP has 1.40.
- After purchasing a special upgrade for LE 5, shots from this weapon will be able to pierce up to five enemies at the same time, and a special upgrade for TMP increases the power of the submachine gun by one and a half times.
Of course, both submachine guns are inferior to the Chicago Broom, but it can only be unlocked after beating the story campaign on Professional difficulty. Until then, it is recommended to use LE 5 and pump it to the maximum if possible, including a special improvement.
