The third major patch for Sons of the Forest brought a lot of fresh content, including solar panels. Thanks to this innovation, you can finally abandon the torches inside the shelters, replacing them with light bulbs. This guide will help you find and install solar panels.
Where to find solar panels in Sons of the Forest
Solar panels can be found all over the island. Most often they come across in boxes in abandoned camps and inside bunkers. They are rather large rectangular panels with dark glass divided into dozens of parts, so they are hard to miss.
For example, one of the solar panels lies in the western part of the island in a bunker near the 3D printer. Another one is in an abandoned camp not far from this location. In other words, if you carefully study the environment and do not miss a single container, then sooner or later you will definitely manage to find a couple of solar panels.
At the moment, the game does not have the ability to craft solar panels on its own, but it is quite possible that it will appear in one of the future updates.
How to use solar panels in Sons of the Forest
To use solar panels, you will need three items:
- Ramp;
- Wire;
- Light bulbs.
Once you collect them all, installing solar panels will not be a problem. The procedure will be as follows:
- Build a ramp to later place solar panels on it. If you have already built a house with a sloping roof, then it is ideal for this. You can also place a small building in front of the house with a couple of walls and a ramp instead of a roof, then install solar panels and a light bulb on it, which will illuminate the space around the house at night.
- Next, install the wire into the logs of the ramp, and then hang a light bulb on the wire. You can then stretch the wire across the entire ceiling inside your home and hang a few more light bulbs on it. All of them will be powered by a solar panel installed on the roof of the house.
